The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

Pub. date, Oct 17, 2017 by Harper books.

Summary: Amber Patterson’s plan to get a rich husband is by stealing one from another woman. Every day she goes to the gym and observes wealthy woman working out. After three months of eavesdropping and secretive internet research, she decides to go after Daphne’s husband, Jackson Parrish.

Amber “accidentally” meets Daphne when she drops a magazine dedicated to CF near her victim’s treadmill. Daphne lost her sister, Julie, to Cystic Fibrosis almost twenty years ago. Amber homes in on Daphne’s emotional weakness, claiming she also lost a sister to the same disease, to get closer to her. Amber starts getting involved with Daphne’s life and family by volunteering her time for Daphne’s annual charity event. Soon Daphne is inviting her to Parrish family gatherings for holidays and her two daughters’ birthdays. Throughout all of this, Amber steadfastly keeps her eye on the prize, taking over Daphne’s luxurious life.

But Amber isn’t the only one harboring a dark secret. Someone else wants her to get exactly what she deserves.

Comments: I particularly like psychological suspense and this book didn’t disappoint. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way. It would make a great “beach read”.

I give this title 4 books for keeping me up way too late to finish it.
